#UNLEASH Yourself! How to Buy Authentic Native American Works

by Celia· April 20, 2016· in Art, Shattered_Legend, Unleash Yourself, US· 0 comments tags: Articles
Did you know it is illegal in the United States to advertise or sell non-Native artwork as “Native American”? There is not yet a direct equivalent to this law in Canada and Australia! In the USA, here are the steps for confirming what you are selling truly is the work of indigenous artisans. The Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990 (P.L. 101-644) is a truth-in-advertising law that prohibits misrepresentation in marketing of Indian arts and crafts products within the United States. It is illegal to offer or display for sale, or sell any art or craft product in a manner that falsely suggests it is Indian produced, an Indian product, or the product of a particular Indian or Indian Tribe or Indian arts and crafts organization, resident within the United States… Read more at: The Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990 | U.S. Department of the Interior

by Celia· March 15, 2016· in Art, Literature, Pop Culture, US· 0 comments tags: Articles, Rants

I love my family. Michaela asked me to do a session of her and Maggie, both my cousins, and I gladly said yes. Michaela herself is a talented photographer (Ambition Photography) and Maggie and she are both stunning, huge personalities, so I knew they would be open to having fun, being creative, and just enjoying the process of being photographed. Enjoy, ladies. You rocked it. Source: Michaela & Maggie – Saskatoon Lifestyle Photography
